Otterly AI has one of the lowest advertised starting prices in AI search optimization: $29 per month.

That makes it easy to try. It does not necessarily make it the cheapest platform for the strategy you actually want to run.

The Lite plan includes 15 prompts across ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot. That is enough to monitor a small, carefully chosen prompt set. But the next plan costs $189 per month, while Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Mode remain paid add-ons on every self-serve tier.

Otterly AI pricing

Otterly is also more than a basic mention tracker. It includes AI Prompt Research, citation analysis, recommendations, GEO audits, detailed reports, ChatGPT Ads tracking, and—on higher plans—Agent Analytics, API and MCP access, Looker Studio integration, and agency workspaces.

The real buying question is therefore not whether Otterly is “the $29 AI visibility tool.” It is whether the plan, prompt allowance, model coverage, recommendations, audits, and reporting fit how you intend to track and improve AI visibility.

This Otterly AI pricing and review guide examines what the plans mean in practice, what users like and dislike, when the add-ons change the economics, and how Otterly compares with ZeroRank as a complete AI search optimization platform.

Otterly AI review: The quick verdict

Otterly AI dashboard

Otterly is a strong option for teams that want an accessible monitoring platform with good reports, source and citation analysis, GEO audits, and agency-friendly features.

Its clearest strengths are:

  • A genuinely affordable $29 entry plan
  • Four AI search engines included on every plan
  • Unlimited users, even on Lite
  • Daily tracking
  • AI Prompt Research and optimization recommendations
  • GEO audits for assessing content at scale
  • Detailed reports and exports
  • Looker Studio, API, MCP, and Agent Analytics on Standard and above
  • An agency program with unlimited workspaces, pitch workspaces, additional prompts, and branded Looker Studio reporting

Users commonly praise its usability. G2's review summary says customers consistently highlight the intuitive interface and how quickly they can set up tracking and obtain useful insights. That matters in a category where a large data set is not valuable if teams struggle to interpret or act on it.

Otterly AI G2 summary

The limitations become clearer as your requirements grow.

Lite only includes 15 prompts and one workspace. Standard jumps to $189 per month for 100 prompts. All public plans include the same four core engines, while Gemini, Google AI Mode, and Claude cost extra. Adding Claude is particularly expensive: $29 per month on Lite, $109 on Standard, and $439 on Premium.

Otterly also focuses more heavily on monitoring, auditing, and recommendations than creating and executing the content needed to close visibility gaps.

One person who tested Otterly alongside other GEO products described it as useful for tracking AI sources and social mentions, but said they struggled to translate the findings into an implementation strategy.

That is an individual Reddit review, not a universal verdict, but it identifies the most important buying question: what happens after Otterly shows you the problem?

In comparison, ZeroRank combines visibility tracking with Prompt Research, fanout query analytics, prioritized on-page, off-page, and technical recommendations, AEO content creation and optimization, Agentic Workflows, referral traffic analysis, API access, and MCP workflows.

ZeroRank users especially praise the actionable recommendations and execution features.

ZeroRank AI Trustpilot review

It starts at $89 per month and lets customers track any of 17 supported platforms within their monthly answer allowance.

The practical verdict:

  • Choose Otterly if you want a low-cost entry point, strong monitoring and reporting, GEO URL audits, or agency-oriented workspaces and Looker Studio reporting.
  • Choose ZeroRank if you want broader model choice and a more connected workflow, recommendations, content execution, and automation.

Where Otterly AI genuinely stands out

Otterly should not be reduced to an inexpensive tracker. Its current product covers several parts of the AEO workflow, and some of them are compelling.

Otterly makes AI visibility easy to start monitoring

The Lite plan gives a solo marketer or small team a credible way to start tracking AI visibility for $29 per month.

Otterly AI prompt tracking

It includes:

  • 15 search prompts
  • ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot
  • Daily tracking
  • Unlimited team members
  • One workspace
  • Unlimited brand reports
  • AI Prompt Research
  • Brand Visibility Index
  • Domain Ranking
  • Link Citations Analysis
  • Detailed reports and exports
  • Three recommendations per week
  • 1,000 GEO URL audits per month
  • Multi-country support across more than 50 countries
  • ChatGPT Ads tracking

That is a useful product, not a demo plan stripped of all meaningful features. Four-engine tracking, unlimited users, prompt research, reports, recommendations, and URL audits give buyers enough to establish a baseline and investigate where they appear.

The G2 feedback about ease of use strengthens this case. Otterly's value at the entry level is not only its price; it is the ability to get a monitoring workflow running without enterprise procurement or a long implementation.

GEO audits are a meaningful part of the product

Otterly's Generative Engine Optimization Audit evaluates pages for AI search readiness. Lite includes 1,000 URL audits per month, Standard includes 5,000, and Premium includes 10,000.

Otterly AI audit

That is useful for teams managing larger sites because prompt tracking and page optimization answer different questions. Tracking shows whether a brand appears. Auditing helps identify whether individual pages are structured and accessible in ways that support AI visibility.

However, an audit is still different from an integrated creation and optimization workflow. Otterly can identify issues and recommend changes.

In comparison, ZeroRank lets teams use visibility and citation gaps to research, outline, create, and optimize AEO content inside the same platform. The better fit depends on whether you primarily want to audit existing URLs or execute new and updated content from the same analysis.

Otterly has a credible agency setup

Standard and Premium customers can apply for Otterly's Agency Partner program. Partners receive additional prompts, unlimited client workspaces, pitch workspaces for prospect audits, branded Looker Studio reporting, co-marketing opportunities, and simplified billing.

Otterly AI agency program

Standard agency partners receive 150 prompts instead of 100, while Premium partners receive 500 instead of 400. These are meaningful additions for an agency selling GEO services.

Otterly's normal Standard and Premium plans already include unlimited workspaces and team members. The Looker Studio connector allows agencies to rebuild reporting around the metrics and presentation their clients need instead of relying only on standard PDF exports.

In comparison, ZeroRank includes unlimited seats and shareable client dashboards on self-serve plans, with white-label dashboards and automated client email reports available on higher packaging.

ZeroRank is stronger when the agency wants recommendations and execution workflows alongside reporting; Otterly has a particularly clear setup for Looker Studio reporting, pitch workspaces, and a formal partner program.

The $29 Lite plan is useful, but 15 prompts require discipline

Otterly Lite is worth taking seriously. It includes the platform's core tracking, research, audits, recommendations, and reporting capabilities at a price that makes experimentation easy.

The main constraint is the 15-prompt allowance.

Fifteen prompts can be enough when you are tracking:

  • One brand
  • One primary category
  • A small number of high-intent comparison and recommendation prompts
  • A tightly defined market

It becomes restrictive when you need to cover several products, personas, funnel stages, locations, or use cases. A useful AEO prompt set may include category prompts, comparison prompts, alternatives, use-case questions, problem-based prompts, and branded questions. Fifteen slots disappear quickly once you try to represent more than one customer journey.

The issue is not that more prompts are always better. A smaller set of commercially important prompts is often more useful than hundreds of vague variations. But 15 prompts leave little room to test new opportunities while preserving a stable baseline.

And I find it hard to manage the prompts as it doesn’t give the option to manually activate or deactivate tracking for specific prompts so you can add new ones.

ZeroRank gives you more flexibility in how you choose to manage your prompt strategy.

ZeroRank prompt tracking

Lite cannot purchase an extra 100-prompt package. If you outgrow 15 prompts, the next step is Standard at $189 per month, a jump of $160.

Who is Otterly Lite worth it for?

Lite is worth it for a solo marketer, consultant, small company, or agency prospecting workflow that wants to:

  • Test AI visibility tracking without a large commitment
  • Monitor one focused prompt category
  • Track ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot
  • Run audits across an existing site
  • Share brand reports with an unlimited number of colleagues
  • Receive a limited number of recommendations without needing API, MCP, Agent Analytics, or Looker Studio

It is less suitable when you need a representative prompt set across several products or audiences, more than one workspace, unlimited recommendations, API/MCP access, or models outside the four included engines.

In comparison, ZeroRank Starter costs $89 per month and supports up to 4,500 analyzed answers across any of 17 platforms. It also includes 15 Prompt Research runs, three article generations, three content optimizations, Agentic Workflows, API/MCP access, unlimited countries and seats, and shareable dashboards.

Otterly Lite is the better low-risk monitoring entry point. ZeroRank Starter is the more complete entry plan when you already know you want to research, track, prioritize, create, optimize, and automate within one workflow.

Standard is the real operating plan for most teams

Otterly Standard costs $189 per month or $160 per month on annual billing. It expands the prompt allowance from 15 to 100 and removes several Lite restrictions.

Standard includes:

  • 100 prompts
  • Unlimited workspaces
  • Unlimited recommendations
  • 5,000 GEO URL audits per month
  • Google Looker Studio connector
  • 2,000 API requests per month
  • 2,000 MCP requests per month
  • 200,000 Agent Analytics events per month
  • Group onboarding

It retains the four included engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Copilot.

This is Otterly's most balanced plan. A 100-prompt allowance can cover a meaningful set of categories, comparisons, use cases, and customer questions.

However, for the price, it still misses the actionability layer.

Otterly review

Unlimited workspaces make it suitable for companies managing several projects and agencies handling several clients. API, MCP, Agent Analytics, and Looker Studio turn it into a more connected reporting and analytics platform.

At $189, however, buyers should stop treating Otterly as the $29 option and compare the complete workflow against similarly priced products.

ZeroRank Pro costs $199 per month—only $10 more—and analyzes up to 13,500 AI answers across any of 17 supported platforms. It includes 50 Prompt Research runs, 12 article generations, 12 content optimizations, Agentic Workflows, API and MCP access, unlimited seats and countries, and prioritized recommendations.

The products overlap in visibility tracking, prompt research, citation analysis, recommendations, referral or Agent Analytics, API, MCP, and reporting. The decision is about what they emphasize:

  • Otterly Standard emphasizes monitoring, URL auditing, unlimited workspaces, Looker Studio reporting, and agency operations.
  • ZeroRank Pro emphasizes broader model selection, fanout and gap analysis, prioritized actions, content creation and optimization, and automated execution.

Who is Otterly Standard worth it for?

Standard is worth it for an in-house team or agency that needs approximately 100 prompts, several workspaces, unlimited recommendations, large-scale URL auditing, and programmatic or Looker Studio access to the data.

It is harder to justify when Claude, Gemini, or Google AI Mode are essential, because their add-ons raise the price considerably. It is also a weaker fit when the main bottleneck is implementing the recommendations rather than finding and reporting them.

Premium adds volume, not a fundamentally different workflow

Otterly Premium costs $489 per month or $422 per month on annual billing. It increases the main usage allowances to:

  • 400 search prompts
  • 10,000 GEO URL audits per month
  • 5,000 API requests per month
  • 5,000 MCP requests per month
  • One million Agent Analytics events per month
  • Personal onboarding

The feature set otherwise resembles Standard. Premium is therefore primarily a scale decision.

That can make sense for an agency with a substantial client portfolio or a company monitoring many products and prompt categories. The formal agency program raises the allowance to 500 prompts and adds the partner benefits discussed earlier.

But Premium still includes only the same four base engines. Adding Gemini and Google AI Mode costs $149 per month each. Claude costs another $439 per month. A Premium account with all three additional engines would cost $1,226 per month before tax on monthly billing—more than the published $1,000 starting point for Enterprise.

At that point, requesting an Enterprise quote is more sensible than stacking every add-on onto Premium.

Who is Otterly Premium worth it for?

Premium is worth it for an agency or mid-sized company that needs substantially more prompts, audits, API/MCP usage, and Agent Analytics events while remaining satisfied with the four included engines—or only one carefully chosen add-on.

It is not automatically the best option simply because a team needs more coverage. Buyers should calculate whether Standard plus a 100-prompt package, Premium, or an Enterprise quote produces the right combination.

The model add-ons can change Otterly's value quickly

Otterly includes ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Microsoft Copilot. Other engines are sold separately as an add on.

Otterly add ons

The add-on price scales with the plan because it applies across the larger prompt allowance.

This structure can be reasonable when you only need one extra engine. A Lite customer can add Gemini for $9, producing a useful five-engine setup for $38 per month. It becomes more difficult at higher tiers.

For example:

  • Standard with Gemini costs $248 per month.
  • Standard with Gemini and Claude costs $357 per month.
  • Standard with all three add-ons costs $416 per month.
  • Premium with all three add-ons costs $1,226 per month.

That is why Otterly's $29 starting price should not anchor the entire buying decision. Calculate the price of the prompt allowance and models you actually need.

In comparison, ZeroRank lets customers choose from 17 supported platforms on every plan. Usage is governed by the monthly answer allowance rather than charging a separate subscription add-on for each model.

ZeroRank AI models

Some premium models, such as Claude, consume more credits per run, so the cost is not completely uniform—but the platform itself is not locked behind a separate model package.

Otterly's structure is attractive when its four default engines match your needs. ZeroRank's structure is more flexible when you want to change models, run curiosity checks, or follow where your AI referral traffic is actually coming from.

Otterly's recommendations help, but examine the path to implementation

Lite includes three recommendations per week, while Standard and above include unlimited recommendations.

These features move Otterly beyond passive reporting. The product can help teams identify where visibility is weak and what pages may need improvement.

Keep in mind that Recommendations can take up to 3 days after sign up to appear in your account.

Otterly recommendations

ZeroRank gives you prioritized on-page, off-page, and technical actions.

ZeroRank recommendations

Otterly can be the better fit if your team already has a content production process and primarily needs monitoring, audits, and reporting to feed it.

ZeroRank can be the better fit when you want the analysis and execution process connected inside the same platform.

Treat Otterly's scores as directional, not absolute truth

This applies to every AI visibility platform, but Otterly provides a useful example of why buyers should examine the raw evidence behind summary metrics.

In a recent Reddit post, someone testing an exported Otterly brand report questioned a “likelihood to buy” score that assigned one competitor 100% based on a 15-prompt, 14-day sample.

Otterly metric

They also noted that a single mention was displayed as 1% share of voice and that the report did not include the underlying model responses.

Otterly reddit comment

This is anecdotal and based on one exported report. It does not prove that Otterly's overall methodology is unreliable.

But the concern is valid: percentages derived from a small prompt set can look more definitive than the underlying sample warrants.

Before using any AI visibility score in client or executive reporting:

ZeroRank and other AI visibility platforms also use synthetic prompt tracking. The same methodological discipline applies. A platform should help you collect consistent evidence; it cannot turn a narrow prompt sample into a complete picture of customer behavior.

Otterly AI vs. ZeroRank: Which one is worth it for you?

Choose Otterly when…

Choose ZeroRank when…

You want to start monitoring for $29 per month

You already need a complete research-to-execution workflow

Its four included engines cover your priorities

You want to choose from 17 supported platforms

You want unlimited workspaces and Looker Studio reporting

You want unlimited seats, shareable dashboards plus integrated recommendations and execution

Your team already has a content production workflow

You want built-in AEO content creation and optimization

You need pitch workspaces and Otterly's agency partner program

You want Agentic Workflows, API, and MCP alongside content execution

You mainly need monitoring, audits, and reporting

You want visibility data connected directly to actions and deliverables

Otterly's advantage is its accessible entry plan, URL audit volume, and formal agency program.

ZeroRank's advantage is broader model choice and a more connected AEO workflow spanning prompt research, fanout analysis, opportunity identification, recommendations, content, and automation.

Final verdict: Is Otterly AI worth it?

Yes, when its prompt allowance, included engines, and monitoring-led workflow match your needs.

Otterly is less compelling when Claude, Gemini, and AI Mode are all important, or when your main problem is executing the content and workflows required to improve visibility.

In those cases, ZeroRank's broader model selection and integrated optimization workflow can provide a better fit.

The decision comes down to this:

  • Choose Otterly for accessible monitoring, GEO audits, reporting, and agency operations.
  • Choose ZeroRank when you want AI visibility research, tracking, prioritization, content execution, and automation connected in one platform.
