What is a DNS lookup?
A DNS lookup queries the Domain Name System to translate a domain name into its associated IP addresses and other records (MX, CNAME, TXT, etc.). It reveals how your domain is configured at the DNS level.
What do the different DNS record types mean?
A records point to IPv4 addresses, AAAA to IPv6, MX records define mail servers, CNAME creates domain aliases, TXT records hold text data (like SPF/DKIM), and NS records specify your authoritative name servers.
