What does a noindex tag do?

A noindex meta tag (<meta name="robots" content="noindex">) tells search engines not to include the page in their index. The page will not appear in search results even if other sites link to it.

How do I fix an accidental noindex tag?

Remove the <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> tag from your page's HTML <head> section, then request re-indexing through Google Search Console. It may take a few days for the page to reappear in search results.
