Where should my XML sitemap be located?

Your sitemap should be accessible at yoursite.com/sitemap.xml. You should also reference it in your robots.txt file with a Sitemap: directive so search engines can find it automatically.

What if my sitemap is missing?

Without a sitemap, search engines rely solely on crawling links to discover your pages. This means some pages may never be found or indexed, especially new or orphaned pages with few internal links.
