What is a redirect chain?

A redirect chain occurs when one URL redirects to another, which then redirects again (e.g., A -> B -> C). Each hop adds latency and can dilute link equity. Ideally, every redirect should go directly to the final destination.

What is the difference between a 301 and 302 redirect?

A 301 redirect is permanent and passes full link equity (ranking power) to the new URL. A 302 redirect is temporary and may not pass link equity. Use 301 for permanent URL changes and 302 for temporary moves.
